Do You Know What This Is In Japanese?

Practice and learn Japanese with me in small easy steps as I share tips from my studies. The Japanese phrase I recently learned was how to ask, do you know what this is in Japanese. See this phrase along with relevant responses below.

My Japanese Study Notes:

Question: Do you know what this is?

  • kore wo shittemasuka?
  • これをしっていますか

Response: Yes, I know what this is.

  • hai, shitte imasu.
  • はい、しっています

Response: No, I don’t know.

  • iie, shirimasen
  • いいえ、しりません

How To Practice:

Choose 3 objects around the house and ask others around you if they know what they are in Japanese. Try teaching them how to respond, this will also allow you to memorize each response as you help others learn.
